Fun Helping
The Corte Madera/Larkspur Schools
Foundation annual auction is Saturday, May 14. I went to my first
Foundation Auction last year and loved it. It is a great chance
to connect with people, purchase great stuff, have fun, and help
the district, all at the same time. I had great conversations with
parents I don’t get to see
very often, and I walked away with some great stuff (A Branching
Out cake, computer components, gift certificates). With the hundreds
of items in the program, there literally is something for everyone.
If for no other reason, come to hear Chad Carvey and I providing
color commentary for the silent auction.
In celebration of the Foundation’s silver anniversary, the
theme of the evening is the ‘80s. You can dress in
your favorite cocktail attire, or choose to go retro. With the
fear of revealing my age, I will say that I did attend high school
in the ‘80s. My formative years were spent surrounded by people
wearing spandex, ripped clothing and penny loafers (sometimes at
the same time).
Make sure to bid on my items at the auction. I will be offering
a student vs. staff basketball game, student vs. staff volleyball
game, principal for a day, front row graduation seats, a round
of golf with Ms. Wollman and me, a video game afternoon in the
library, and a radio-controlled car race in the library after school.
If you are able to help work on the event, volunteers are still
needed for before, during, and after the auction. Contact Jody
Coker if you can help.
