Character and New Year’s Resolutions
Our staff who attended the three day
“Character Counts” training was excited
about the curriculum and eager to implement
it at Hall. They were reminded
that we teach character and responsibility
not by what we say, but by what
we do, and the example that we set.
Talking about responsibility and integrity
will never have the same impact as
modeling responsibility and integrity. In
the spirit of Character Counts, I have
taken the liberty of offering parents
several New Year’s Resolutions. All
you need to do is read this out loud to
make them your own.
As a responsible parent at Hall Middle
School, this year I resolve to set a
good example for my children by:
- always using the drop off circle to
drop off my child before school,
even when I don’t want them to be
late and the bell is about to ring;
- always using the drop off circle to
pick up my child after school, even
if it is faster to pick them up outside
the gym;
- always calling the absence line at
927-6956 by 8:30am the morning
of my child’s absence so the
school knows where they are.
These resolutions are very simple and
much easier than going to the gym
four times a week or cutting out French
fries from your diet. Here’s to a great
start to the new year!
