PRINCIPALS
MESSAGE: Jan. 30, 2006 |
Career Day Minimum Day
On February 17,
Hall students will enjoy Career Day, a biannual event that exposes
them to career options. The students’ day will
end at 1:00pm. Students will attend five Career Day
sessions and then have a short debrief. The minimum day will
allow staff to meet to continue our work on classroom recon-figuration
for next year. Please mark your calendars and make arrangements
for a 1:00pm student release that day. The bus will accommodate
this early dismissal.
Graduation Schedule
The last day of school will be Thursday, June 15.
It will be a minimum day schedule. The dates and times for graduation
and related activities have changed, so please mark your calendars.
The following events will be on Thursday,
June 15
• 8th Grade Awards Assembly (8:45 – 10:00am)
•
Graduation Ceremony (3:00 – 4:30pm)
•
Graduation Dance (8:00 – 11:00pm)
In several weeks I will be sending out a letter reiterating
all of the requirements to participate in graduation and outlining
all of the activities of the last week of school.
Word Power
Last week, Hall held its
first ever Word Power Challenge. Seventh grade teacher, Linda Wolfe,
coordinated the classroom competitions and conducted the final
rounds. Word Power is sponsored by Reader’s
Digest and provides an opportunity for students to expand and improve
their vocabulary. I am proud to announce each of the grade level
Word Power champions:
•
Sixth Grade: Ian
• Seventh Grade: Keira
• Eighth Grade: Lexi
Congratulations to the three champions and to all
of the students for participating.
