MESSAGE: May 8, 2006 |
Waning STAR
I want to thank all of our students and teachers for their effort
and cooperation during STAR testing. The testing takes considerable
time and energy and I am always impressed with the flexibility
and focus of our students and staff. The information that we derive
from the testing is valuable in supporting our students and improving
our programs, so we appreciate the commitment of our students to
take the tests.
Open House Thursday Night
Come see student work and the staff of Hall at our Open House on
May 11. We will begin the evening at 6:30 with a General Session
in the gym. From 7:00 to 8:30pm you will be able to see student
exhibitions and walk into classrooms and see student work. There
will be demonstrations by the gymnastics club, wrestling club,
debate club and STOMP performances. You can also see Rube Goldberg
projects, a Greek wax museum, volcano models, literacy portfolios,
and Spanish menus, just to name a few.
It is very important that parents keep their children with them
during Open House. The purpose of the evening is for parents to
enjoy the activities along with their children. When children are
running through the halls unsupervised, they are a distraction
and a safety issue.
Also, remember that this evening is meant as a forum to display
student work, and that time does not allow for one-on-one teacher
conferencing. Be courteous of other parents and arrange for a conference
at a later date, if necessary.
I hope to see you all at this celebratory event. It is a great
showcase of what our students have accomplished this year.
