PRINCIPALS
MESSAGE: May 30, 2006 |
Meeting and Greeting
I spent the majority of last week
meeting incoming fifth and sixth grade
students and their parents. We talked
about Hall and how the day will look
for each grade level. I always
appreciate being able to meet new
students and discuss their questions
and feelings about coming to a new
school. I want to thank the parents
and the students who took time out of
their day to meet with me and talk
about school.
An Award-Winning Teacher
Every year the Marin County of
Education honors outstanding
teachers and recognizes for their
accomplishments. This year I was
proud to recommend Bert Pankler as
the recipient of the annual Golden Bell
Award. Last week an event was held
that recognized the teachers and
classified employees who earned this
distinction. Mr. Pankler is a
remarkable teacher who uses humor
and song to reach his students. He is
an accomplished math and Spanish
teacher who truly enjoys working with
children. You can often find him during
recess playing his accordion or
playing ultimate Frisbee with the
students. In his twenty years of
teaching he has had a positive impact
on hundreds of students both in and
out of the classroom. Congratulations
to Mr. Pankler for earning this
recognition.
