MESSAGE: June 5, 2006 |
Speech Competition
On May 20, Sabrina, Julia,
Bryce and Graham represented Hall in
the 24th annual Margie Burke Speech Tournament. They
competed with one hundred other students from all over
Marin, representing fourteen schools. Sabrina, Julia
and Graham all competed in Dramatic Interpretation.
Sabrina took a gold medal in the seventh grade competition.
She also competed in the Impromptu Speech event. In
this event students get a choice of three topics and
have three minutes to choose a topic and write a speech
to deliver to the judges. Bryce took home a bronze
in Original Oratory. In this category students had
to write an informative or persuasive speech and deliver
it to the judges. Thanks to Ms. Friesen and Ms. McPherson
for coaching our students during lunch and after school.
Also, thanks to Ms. Poletti for judging at the event.
We are proud of how our students prepared and performed
at this event. We hope to have even more students participate
in this great event next year.
Track and Field Corrections
In
a previous message I inadvertently did not mention
Nicole’s third place
finish in the 100 meter dash. Also, first place for
the girls’ 4x100 relay was won by Madison,
Nicole, Monique, and Mackenzie.
Congratulations for your accomplishments and my apologies
for missing you the first time through.
