An Invitation
The Larkspur School District Board of Trustees cordially invites parents to attend their next meeting on February 28 at Hall Middle School Library beginning at 6pm.  Of particular importance to parents is the agenda item on transportation.  The trustees are discussing the current status of student ridership, funding for the 07-08 school year and whether or not to continue funding the costs of student passes.  The Marin County Transit District operates Route 117 which our students take from east Corte Madera to Neil Cummins and Hall Middle School.  The district currently purchases student passes for students riding the bus daily.  Other students purchase their passes from MCTD as do students from the high school and neighboring districts.

Other items of interest include facilities and enrollment as the trustees focus on long range planning for housing.  In addition, there will be a curriculum and instruction presentation on Professional Learning Communities and the International Baccalaureate program.  The complete agenda is available on the Larkspur School District website @ www.larkspurschools.org.  We encourage your participation and input and hope to see you there!

You should receive the School Site Council's 2006-2007 Parent Survey in your student's backpack mail today.  Please complete it as soon as possible and return it to school by Wednesday, February 28.  Your input is very important to the success of this survey.

Eighth Grade Graduation Meeting

Before long, the eighth graders will be moving on to high school so it is now time to start planning a great graduation dance to send them off.  We will have our first meeting to start planning this event on Tuesday, March 6, at 10:45am in the school office.  We welcome any parents of eighth graders who would like to help with this event to attend - - the more the merrier!  Please come to the meeting, or, if you'd like to help out but cannot attend, please call Anne Gilberg (924-9169) or Paula Turner (927-7111).  Thank you!
