| BYE, BYE, BIRDIE
COMING THIS FALL
|
| The Hall Musical Theater Committee
has been working on the plans for next year’s musical.
Two important decisions have been made:
(1) The play will be Tony Award-winning Bye Bye Birdie
— the story of an Elvis Presley-type character named
Conrad Birdie who has been drafted into the Army at the peak
of his career in the 1950s, and the furor it causes among
his fans and his songwriter. The era, costumes and humor of
the play are very similar to Grease.
(2) The timing of our production has been changed to Autumn,
to avoid the many school projects and tests that occur in
the Spring (especially for 8th graders). The performance weekend
will be Nov. 21-23, right before Thanksgiving.
We need a producer and a costumer to sign up now!! (We’ll
also need a set designer, tech director, prop coordinator,
and rehearsal volunteer coordinator, but those jobs can be
filled after school starts.) If you are interested in any
of these positions, contact director Becky Reed. |

SCHOOL NEWS: Information |
| DRIVERS NEEDED FOR
END-OF-YEAR PICNIC
Monday, June 9 • 9:00am & 2:30pm
|
| Drivers are DESPERATELY needed for the June
9 school picnic at Indian Valley College. We need at least
60 drivers (20 from each grade level) to
make this happen, and to avoid the BIG cost of hiring buses.
Ask your spouse — in at least one family, both the mom
and dad are driving separate cars.
Please call TODAY (and not at the last minute
so we will know if this is remotely feasible, or if we will
need to spend the money for busses.) We will leave Hall around
9am and drop the kids off for the day. Then we will need to
pick them up around 2:30pm. Don’t forget to tell us
how many kids you can take in your car. THANKS!
Please call your grade level VP:
6th Grade: Claudia Gropper or Rebecca Sarokin
7th Grade: Liz Krakow or Susan Wirta
8th Grade: Ann Morrison, Suman Vyas or Diana Putterman

| GRADUATION NEWS
Graduation is Wednesday, June 11 • 4:00pm
Hall Gym
|
| No Spike Heels
at Graduation, Please!
The 8th grade girls know this already, but
moms, family and friends need to know — small, spike
high heels are very bad for our new gym floor! Please wear
flats or wider heels to the graduation, and pass the word
on to your guests.
Hall Graduation Activities
There are many ways to help with Hall’s Graduation.
See the PTA pages for how you can
participate—it’s not just for parents of 8th graders!
Get the Best Seats at Graduation,
& Support the PTA!
Ask any parent who has had front-row seats
at 8th grade graduation — seeing the kids’ faces
close up, while in the comfort and coolness of the front row,
is priceless! Don’t miss the opportunity to bid on a
set of 4 reserved front row graduation seats. Proceeds go
to the Hall PTA, so your donation will support school supplies,
the Spring Musical, and so much more. A Win-Win situation!
Stop by the Hall school office to sign up on the bid sheet
for one or both of the sets of 4 seats. Bidding closes on
May 28 at 3pm. No phone-in bids allowed.
