MESSAGE: September 29, 2003 |
Election Update
Student Council elections came to a
close on Friday with a wonderful
Election Assembly. Candidates gave
their speeches and then students
voted for their favorite candidates. All
of the candidates are to be
commended for running great
campaigns and giving effective
speeches at the assembly.
Congratulations to all of the students who devoted their time and
energy to running for office, and a big thanks to Art Nelson
and Nicole Muserilli for their excellent work in
organizing and managing the elections and the assembly. I look forward
to working collaboratively with the newly elected student representatives
to enhance the experience of all students at Hall.
New Skateboard Policy Rolling Along
Last week was the first week of the new skateboard and rollerblade
policy. Over a dozen students have submitted parent permission forms
and are checking-in their boards and blades before school every
day. We are seeking a parent volunteer for the morning and the afternoon
to help manage the storage container. It is a great way to say hello
to the students before or after school and to help make it possible
for students to ride to school. If you are interested in helping,
please contact me.
Chalk-a-Lot
The Chalk Festival is this Friday, October 3rd from 3:15–5:00pm.
The blacktop on campus will provide the canvas for professional
artists, students and parents as they express themselves. Come see
art, create your own art and listen to the Hall band perform. It
will be a great afternoon for the whole family.
Students Recognized
Honor Roll and Principal’s List students were recognized last
week for their spring fourth quarter grades. Students received certificates
during first period and ice cream during lunch (guess which one
generated more enthusiasm).
One Eighth Down?
This week we are half way through the first quarter. Progress reports
will be mailed Friday, October 3rd. The first quarter will end October
31st.
