PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE: October 6, 2003

Student Council Gets Down to Business
The Student Council Cabinet for the fall was elected after impressive speeches given by the candidates to the student body. All of the candidates are to be commended for giving speeches that were creative, spoke to the issues, and considered the needs and interests of their audience.

Homeroom representatives were also identified. Last Monday each homeroom elected a representative and an alternate. The cabinet and the homeroom representatives all met Tuesday morning for the first Student Council meeting. It was exciting to see the new representatives get down to business and discuss magazine sales, the student council budget, the upcoming dance, and a team-building field trip.

A Chalking Good Time
Chalk-a-Lot, the annual chalk festival at Hall, was a huge success last Friday. Many thanks to Patty Fitch and Ann Doyle for organizing, publicizing, and making it a great afternoon. Thanks also to the Hall Band for providing the music to inspire the artists.

QSP Magazine Subscription
Today is the kickoff for the annual QSP magazine subscription drive. This fundraiser accounts for all of the Student Council operating budget and supports student activities on campus. Students who turn in 10 or more orders on October 16th or 20 or more on October 23rd will earn a Laser Tag party. Tons of other prizes are also available for students who sell magazine orders. See the information in today’s Backpack Mail for more details.
