Another Chance to Serve
This week will mark the beginning of the Spring Student Council
Elections. This is a great opportunity for your child to get involved
in student government at Hall. Student Council organizes dances,
lunchtime and break activities, recycling on campus and fundraisers,
just to name a few. It is a wonderful way to make new friends and
work with staff and other students on school issues. Student Council
representatives represent the student body at the monthly Site Council
meetings where school-wide issues are discussed and funding decisions
made. The student voice is an important voice when tackling tough
issues. Talk to your child about getting involved in student government
and getting their voice heard.
Petitions will be distributed this Wednesday and are due back this
Friday. Next Monday will signal the beginning of campaigning, with
posters to be approved Tuesday morning, January 20th. The election
assembly will be on Friday, January 23rd.
The Student Council meets every Tuesday morning at 7:45am. Have
your child contact Nicole Muserilli or Art
Nelson if they are interested or have any questions.

BEAUTIFICATION UPDATE!
We had two very successful beautification days on Saturday, Jan.
10th and Sunday, Jan. 11th. We got a lot done — planting areas
amended and rototilled, daffodils, poppies, feather grass and Santa
Barbara daisies planted (near the front entrance), and the planting
area along the pump station weeded and trimmed.
Thank you to Sloat Garden Center in Larkspur
for the contribution of daffodil and paperwhite bulbs and please
remember their support when you need garden supplies.
Thank you to the 24 people who came to help — what
a great turnout!
Only four more days left this year to make an impact on Hall Middle
School beautification, so please mark your calender for one or more
of these days: Feb. 7, Mar. 13, Apr. 25, and May 22, and watch the
bulletin for more details.

BYE BIRDIE
Performances were Nov.
20-22, 2003 |
| Early
in the career of Elvis Presley, he was drafted into the Army.
“Bye Bye Birdie” is the satiric Broadway musical
smash about an Elvis-inspired rock star, Conrad Birdie, who
is drafted into the Army and who creates a near-riot in a
small town when he stops for one last publicity junket in
1957. Performances were Nov 20-22, 1:00pm & 7:30pm.
BYE BYE BIRDIE PHOTOS
ONLINE!
Check out the wonderful photos
of Hall Middle School’s production of Bye Bye Birdie
at our district website. The photos were taken by parent Jocelyn
Knight Cacciatore.
It’s not too late to order photos or videos from the
play. And we are starting to plan next year’s Hall musical.
The leading prospect is West Side Story. If you want
to order, or have comments about the next play, contact Becky
Reed.
