Principal's Message

A Second Chance to Be Heard   In the hopes of receiving more input from parents, the Hall Site Council has decided to reopen the annual parent survey.  All parents should have received an email last Tuesday with a link to the website.  Please contact the office if you did not receive the email or if you need the link again.   Please complete a survey for each child you have at Hall.  We have changed the settings in the program so it will be easier for you to now do that from the same computer.  Do not complete the survey a second time if you have already done so.  Responses from this second round will be added to the first.  Please contact the office for support if you have any problems with the survey.  Hard copies of the survey are available in the office.   Rest assured, all parent responses are completely confidential.  The school cannot link responses or feedback to specific parents.  The data is grouped by grade level and compared to previous years and other grade levels.  Survey data is used to identify strengths and set goals based on areas in need of improvement.    Over the last several years we have identified a variety of issues, including the amount of homework, communication of assignments and communication of grades, among others.  As a result of the data gathered in these surveys, the Site Council was instrumental in the effort to open the parent portal to PowerSchool, expand the use of yourhomework.com, and a refinement of the homework policy.   We appreciate your time and feedback. - Daniel Norbutas - Hall Principal
